“Dreaming” was written during Samira Winter’s 30 day songwriting challenge in August 2013. From that song-a-day project, Samira and Nolan Eley the original producer/engineer of the band Winter - chose 10 songs which led to the first album “Supreme Blue Dream”, however the song “Dreaming” never made it on the record. Nonetheless, Samira felt like it was a song worth exploring and after moving to LA from Boston in the fall of 2013, she worked on a demo for the track with her new bandmate Matt Hogan. They recorded the demo in Hogan’s bedroom, starting with the existing structure and Matt adding new production elements such as the instrumental intro/outro and creating a more dancey new-gaze drum beat. A few months later when Winter was on their first west coast tour in May 2014, Matt’s laptop was stolen in San Francisco while the band was having lunch. Both Matt and Samira were really upset since they thought they lost that recording which had incapsulated such a fun first experience collaborating as bandmates and that had turned out so good. Two years later, in the summer of 2016 Matt found the track in his hard drive and they chose to release it.
lyrics
Dream dreaming now
Dream dreaming now
Dream dreaming now
Dream dreaming now
What if I want you
What if we leave right now
What if we're special
What if you're all I want
Dream dreaming now
Dream dreaming now
Dream dreaming now
Dream dreaming now
What if we're lonely
What if we're all we have
What if it's worth it
What if you're my best bet
Dream dreaming now
Dream dreaming now
Dream dreaming now
Dream dreaming now
